As an Operator I with Rio Arriba County (RAC) your primary job duty is to maintain work areas for the safety of the work crews. The candidate will operate light to heavy duty equipment in all phases of construction. Further responsibilities of an RAC Operator I include:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Operates light to heavy duty equipment in all phases of construction;

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operator I will be required to smooth roadway surfaces and build road shoulders, bar ditches and roadway crowns;
  • Plow snow, evaluate emergency situations such as flooding;
  • Schedules maintenance on assigned equipment;

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in dealing with the elderly;

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English;
  • Knowledge of State and County programs available to Senior Citizens;
  • Familiarity with State and Federal legislation concerning Senior Citizens and the ability to implement programs mandated by such legislation;

  • Advanced math skills required and prior budgetary experience (accounting) preferred;

    • Prepare direct payment vouchers, reviews all travel and mileage and per-diem;
    • Takes care of all leases;
    • Enter W-9 vendors for direct payment vouchers and contracts and enters and files all W-9’s;
    • Maintain records and files for accounts payable reports and vendor files;
    • Assist in answering phones;

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITES:       

  • Knowledge of the principles of business and County government organization;
  • Knowledge of methods to tactfully deal with the public;
  • Proficiency in data entry using keyboard and key pad;
  • A combination of college education, training and experience in accounting, Finance or business totaling 2 years;
  • Knowledge of basic math, filing, and reading comprehension;
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical computations;
  • Employee will be required to take job-related courses;
  • Work Key Scores Preferred;

Position:   CUSTODIAN I

Department:    TIERRA AMARILLA - PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

 

 

As a Custodian I with Rio Arriba County (RAC) your primary job duty is to maintain clean and safe work areas for the safety of the public and staff of Rio Arriba County. The candidate will operate equipment in all areas dealing with maintenance as well as various cleaning chemicals.

 

  • Cleaning of offices and restrooms, dusting of furniture, moving furniture etc.,;
  • Proper use of all cleaning equipment;
  • Maintains security of buildings by checking and locking of doors, windows and
  • patrolling of grounds;
  • Collects and disposes of trash, use of proper disinfectants to control odor and germs;
  • Sets up rooms for meetings;
  • Assembles desks and re-lamping of lights;
  • Inspection of facility for needed repairs and reports to supervisor.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required;
  • Experience in Custodial duties totaling one (1) year;
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, practices, safety rules, cleaners, supplies
  • and cleaning equipment;
  • Ability to communicate, follow and give instructions, add, subtract, multiply divide, and measure;
