County revenues consist of Property Taxes, Oil and Gas Ad-Valorem Taxes

Property Taxes are mailed out November 1st for the current tax year

Property Tax Due Dates:

First Half Taxes: Due November 10th of the current tax year and become delinquent after December 10th.

Second Half Taxes: Due April 10th of the following year and become delinquent after May 10th.

Methods of Payments: Cash, Check, Money orders, and Cashier's Checks: make checks payable to: Rio Arriba County Treasurer.

Please Include your Owner Number or Tax Bill Number on your checks or money orders

 Penalty and Interest On Delinquent Taxes:

Interest and Penalty on Delinquent amounts are calculated as folows:

Interest: 1% per month on delinquent TAX AMOUNT ONLY: no maximum

Penalty: 1% per month on delinquent TAX AMOUNT ONLY: 5% maximum

**When delinquent taxes fall on a weekend or legal County Holiday, payments become delinquent at 5:00 pm the following business day.**

JULY 1ST OF EVERY YEAR, REAL PROPERTY THAT IS DELINQUENT FOR 3 YEARS IS REPORTED TO THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO TAXATION AND REVENUE PROPERTY TAX DIVISION. ONCE DELINQUENT TAXES ARE REPORTED A STATE COST FEE WILL BE COLLECTED AS FOLLOWS:
