IMPORTANT TIPS TO EXPEDITE SERVICE OF YOUR CIVIL PROCESS
Please provide as much of the following information as possible to assist us in serve process.

Defendant’s full name, alias, or business name if a business
Defendant’s home address and telephone number
Defendant’s business address and telephone number and work hours
Full physical description of defendant and defendant’s vehicle
Best times to find defendant at the address(s) provided.
A daytime/nighttime telephone number(s) where you can be reached regarding the service process

The Rio Arriba County Government requires advanced payment of fees for service of Process. Make checks, cashier’s checks or money orders to the “Rio Arriba County Sheriff”. If you have an order for waiver of service fees issued by District Court, enclose it with your process.


Bond Fee $5.00

Bonds for Magistrate Warrants are accepted at the Rio Arriba County Sheriff Department after Magistrate Court hours. Bonds will be accepted in the form of a Money Order or Cashier’s Check for the exact amount of the bond. A separate Money Order or Cashier’s Check will be collected for the bond fee in the amount of $5.00.

Report Copies $3.00

Accident Reports or Offence/Incident Reports may be requested at either Sheriff Department location. Reports may be requested by mail along with the $3.00 report fee. Please be advised the report will be made available 10 working days after accident or incident. Additional copying fees may apply.
