Rio Arriba Day At the Legislature


Rio Arriba County will be hosting a day at the legislature on February 18, 2013. County officials are planning on coordinating the event to showcase local tourism, healthcare and agriculture. “We really want the public to be aware of all the great things our County has to offer,” said County Manager Tomas Campos. “If we are able to exhibit what makes our culture, way of life, land and people so unique and rich, then I think people who live outside the County will be more inclined to visit and learn about it.”


The County will have 24 spaces available, and will be hosting a press conference/entertainment period at 11:00AM to 1:00PM, which the County Commission will be speaking. State representatives will also be invited to speak and entertainment will be provided for the public to enjoy.


Thus far, RAC is planning to invite the following to showcase:

  • Local Clinics (El Centro, Las Clinicas Del Norte)

  • New Mexico Wine Grower's Association

  • Abiquiu Inn

“We can’t wait for this day to take place as it will give so many great businesses, associations and organizations a chance to platform from within our County,” said RAC Assistant Manager David Trujillo. “It will be great to offer the public a taste of what our citizens have to offer.”
