The Finance Department is responsible for financial assets. Finance plans, organizes, directs and monitors accounting, auditing, collections of funds, procurement of goods and services. Finance assures that proper controls are in place for disbursing county monies. They also provide internal and external reporting of the county’s financial health. It also prepares budgets, financial statements and reports, makes investments of public funds.

Finance is a resource for the remainder of the departments providing support services so they can better serve the citizens of Rio Arriba County. The main internal support functions are the Comptrollers, Fixed Assets,Payroll, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Indigent.
