The function of the Recreation Department is to promote health and prolong years for Senior Citizens by competing in annual Senior Olympics. The Recreation Department also provides recreational activities and summer food programs for school children during school and summer months. The Recreation Department consists of the Recreation Director, Joseph Martinez, and his Espanola Staff, Maria Gutierrez, Secretary; Donald Alire and Richard Sisneros, Maintenance Crew; and Joe Ortega, Bus Driver. Mr. Martinez is also assisted by Paula Lopez, Assistant Recreation Director and Jessica Martinez who work at the Tierra Amarilla Swimming Pool and also assist with recreational activities.
