The function of the Animal Control Department is to provide the control and care of animals, authority of Animal Control Officers, impounding of strays, vaccination requirements, prohibiting cruelty to animals, and setting penalties.

Animal Control consists of two (2) Animal Control Officers, David Gasca, Supervisor and Andrew Moya, Animal Control Officer. These individuals can be reached Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at (505) 753-2992. Should they be unavailable, a message can be left for them at the Public Works Department.
